‘Iconic’ World War II Aircraft landing in the Rocket City!

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — A tour coming to the Rocket City will allow you to experience the sights, sounds and stories of one of the rarest World War II planes up close and personal!

The AirPower History Tour with Commemorative Air Force is set to fly into Huntsville for an ‘interactive and immersive experience’ with World War II warbirds.

The B-29 Superfortress “FIFI” will make its first summer tour stop at the Huntsville Executive Airport on Wednesday, May 22. This is one of the rarest bombers from World War II with a distinctive rumble of radial engines.

The event will be open to the public on Thursday, May 23 through Monday, May 27, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ticket access to the planes is $20 for adults, $10 for children ages 11-17 and free admission for children 10 and under.

The bomber will be accompanied by a T-6 Texan, a P-13 Spearman and an RC-45J Expeditor with a special appearance of a P-51 Mustang “Gunfighter.”

The planes will be staged at the Executive Flight Center FBO Ramp all exhibit. The B-29 will be open to the public to tour the cockpit beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday and Friday and noon from Saturday to Monday.

All of the World War II planes are available for rides during the event but at varying times.

The B-29 will be available for flies on Saturday-Monday at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
