Husband of Sayreville Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour posts Facebook tribute from Nigeria

Days after the shooting death of Sayreville Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour, her husband Eze Kings has posted comments about her in a social media post featuring photos of their marriage ceremony.

"My angel you promised to see me by May. I know you breath through me. I will continue to celebrate you as I have promised you I missed you my love," the post from Abuja, Nigeria states.

His words are followed by three red hearts.

The post includes 13 photos of the couple, including some of them smiling and kissing during their wedding.

The post also includes a picture of the couple in nearly matching red pants suits holding hands outside near a wall topped with what appears to be barbed wire.

The post is followed by nearly 150 condolence messages.

Kings has not responded to a request for comment via Facebook.

On Feb. 1, Dwumfour, 30, who had just completed her first year on the Sayreville Borough Council, was fatally shot inside her car outside her home on Samuel Circle in the Parlin section of town. Police found her dead, alone inside the vehicle around 7:30 p.m.

Neighbors reported hearing about 10 gunshots before Dwumfour's SUV was seen rolling down the street where it struck a parked car. Some neighbors also reported seeing a person wearing a hooded sweatshirt in the area.

No suspects or motive for the killing have been announced. No arrests have been made.

Photos on Kings's Facebook page also show an announcement for the solemnization of holy matrimony for Eunice Dwumfour and Eze Kings Akwue on Nov. 24, 2022, at Champions Royal Assembly Kubwa Abuja in Nigeria.

The Nigerian wedding was apparently one of two ceremonies for the couple.

Dwumfour's Facebook page included a photo of an announcement for a traditional marriage to Eze Kings on Aug. 6, 2022, at the Ramada Hotel in East Orange and later at the Champions Royal Assembly in Nigeria.

Kings's Facebook page also included photos from the New Jersey wedding.

Kings, who is referred to as pastor in some of the condolence messages, also posted a Facebook message over the weekend with a birthday message for Dwumfour, who was a pastor at Champions Royal Assembly in Newark.

"4th March is your birthday happy glorious birthday in addy my love," the post said and included several photos of the couple and was followed by more than 200 messages expressing shock and condolences about Dwumfour's death.

The post gives no indication if Kings plans to come to the U.S. for Dwumfour's memorial service this week in Sayreville or to attend her funeral. No funeral arrangements have been announced.

Dwumfour, a graduate of the Newark school system and William Paterson University, had been living in Sayreville for the past several years with her daughter from a previous relationship.
