Hunt for fugitive in Dale County now over

DALE COUNTY, Ala (WDHN) — Authorities in Dale County have confirmed a fugitive believed to be armed and dangerous has been found.

Daleville Police confirmed 46-year-old Burgess Chad Flowers was captured in Dale County at 3:08 p.m. Wednesday.

Daleville Police Chief John Crawford said the hunt for Flowers in the Daleville area began Wednesday morning after U.S. Marshals requested help with a search warrant. Flowers was wanted for a state probation violation for second-degree robbery.

According to Chief Crawford, during the search, Flowers fled into the woods near Daleville Avenue and after a multi-hour search, he was captured around Tank Hill Road.

Daleville City Schools were put on lockdown for a short time due to the search.

Daleville Police, Dale County Deputies, Houston County Deputies, and U.S. Marshals assisted in the search.
