  • Pysanky Easter Eggs

Artist Nicole Holcombe will be teaching participants how to make Easter eggs dyed in the ancient Ukrainian Pysanky style, a waxresist technique originated in Eastern Europe. All materials provided.   • Visit with the Easter Bunny

Where: Deville Veterans Memorial Park, Highway 115, Deville

Time: 11 a.m.

Cost: Free

Face painting, duck pick up, fishing, treasure hunt, live animals, food and more.

  • Easter Paint Night with Art by Amber

Where: The Book Nook: A Christian Book & Gift Boutique, 6025 Monroe Highway, Ball

Time: 5 p.m.

Paint and enjoy after hours shopping and coffee. Good for all painters of any experience.

  • Easter Family Event

Where: Fads & Frames, 1415 Wimbledon Blvd., Alexandria

Time: 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Cost: $5 per child. Two and under free.

  • Easter Bunny Arrival at Alexandria Mall

March 21

  • Red River Chorale Presents "A Choral Collage"

Where: St. James Episcopal Church, 1620 Murray St., Alexandria

Time: 7:30 p.m.

A montage of sixteen short classic selections, each in its original language, that span nearly 500 years, beginning in the 1500’s with a familiar work by Thomas Tallis, “If Ye Love Me,” and ending with a charming 21st-century composition by Eric Whitacre, “This Marriage.” Representing the centuries between and showcasing the classic musical styles of this broad swath of musical history are short pieces by the following composers: Giovanni Palestrina, Carlo Gesualdo, Henry Purcell, Johann Sebastian Bach, Franz Schubert, Felix Mendelssohn, Giuseppe Verdi, Anton Bruckner, Joseph Rhineberger, Sergei Rachmaninov, Carl Orff, Randall Thompson, and Moses Hogan.Tickets: $15 for adults and $5 for students. Where: Forts Randolph & Buhlow State Historic Sites, 135 Riverfront St., Pineville

Cost: $4 park admission per person. Free for seniors and children ages 4 and under.

  • 39th annual Ruth Butler Memorial Easter Egg Hunt

Where: John W. Davidson Memorial Park, Woodworth

Time: 10 a.m.

Cost: Free

Ages: 1-12

Cake walk, pictures with Easter Bunny, food and other children’s activities. Bring Easter basket with three plastic eggs filled with candy.

  • The Bunny Hop Bash with Characters

Thousands of eggs for different age groups (up to age 12) and prizes for the golden egg in each age category. Multiple vendors will be on site and the Easter Bunny will be making an appearance.

  • Annual Giant Easter Egg Hunt at Journey Church

Times: Following services. Saturday after 5 p.m. Sunday after 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Five thousands Easter eggs, 10,000 pieces of candy, pictures with Easter Bunny, games, inflatables, bounce houses, face painting, food trucks, snow cones and more prizes.
