Actor Jon Hamm has only been in Fort Worth for a few days on a new project, but the “Mad Men” star already has a burger named after him.

Fans can pop over to west Fort Worth’s JD’s Hamburgers for the $13.99 “Jon Hammburger,” featuring a 70% Wagyu beef/30% chorizo patty, bleu cheese, tomatoes, pickled red onions and spicy red pepper aioli.

Restaurant owner Gigi Howell teased the new creation in a video on social media Monday, saying it’s the featured burger of the week.

“We heard there’s a very handsome and very funny celebrity in town,” Howell said. “We love him to stop by.”

Hamm stopped by the southeast Fort Worth joint Goldee’s Barbecue on Sunday, where he posed with restaurant staff. The actor was also spotted off Camp Bowie Boulevard at Curly’s Frozen Custard on Monday.

After seeing Hamm out and about in Fort Worth, Howell wanted to do something to celebrate and potentially lure the actor to JD’s.

With a name like Hamm, there’s more than a few food puns that can be made whether that be “Hamm grilled cheese” or “Hamm sandwich,” Howell told the Star-Telegram Tuesday.

But Howell settled on the “Jon Hammburger,” since it wasn’t as literal as the other food puns.

“We were like, ‘Let’s just make our featured burger tonight the ‘Hammburger’ with two ‘m’s’,” Howell said.

To pair with the burger, Howell recommends a “Don Draper Old Fashioned,” a play on Hamm’s “Mad Men” character.

For much of its seven-season run, Hamm’s Don Draper was known to partake in an old fashioned or two between cigarettes. An old fashioned is whiskey cocktail containing sugar, bitters and carbonated water.

JD’s does a featured burger of the week every week from Monday to Sunday.

Although patrons have a few days before the “Jon Hammburger leaves the menu, Howell promises there’s always other food items they can pair to the actor.

“Don Draper onions on a burger or something and soak them in whiskey,” Howell joked.

While Howell is having fun with Hamm’s appearances across Fort Worth, it’s all out of love.

The actor is always putting in great performances, whether by in the dramatic “Mad Men” or comedic “Bridesmaids”, Howell said. Plus the fact that Hamm’s supporting Fort Worth businesses shows how down-to-earth he is.

“I was like, ‘Man, this is a guy we want to come in and try out a hamburger’,” Howell said.

JD’s Hamburgers is open 4 to 9 p.m. Monday-Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday-Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at 9901 Camp Bowie West Blvd.

WHY IS JON HAMM HANGING AROUND FORT WORTH?

Hamm is in town filming “Landman,” the latest series from North Texas native Taylor Sheridan.

“Landman” began production in Fort Worth last month and is expected to film in and around North Texas for the next few months. Hamm joins a previously announced cast that includes Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore and Ali Larter.

Hamm is set to portray Monty Miller, a titan of the Texas oil industry who has a long personal and professional relationship with Tommy Norris (Thornton).

“Landman” is co-created and executive produced by Sheridan and Christian Wallace, which is based on Texas Monthly’s podcast “Boomtown” that Wallace wrote and hosted.

The show’s synopsis reads, “Landman is set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas and is a modern day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs. The series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.”

“Landman” will debut on Paramount+.
