Hundreds gather to raise money for F.M. Kirby Center

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A night of performing arts out on the square in Wilkes-Barre Saturday night.

The F.M. Kirby Center is holding one of its annual events and it’s all to help local children in our area.

The 6th annual Kirby Fest in downtown Wilkes-Barre. The event kicked off at 5:00 p.m. and will continue till 7:00 p.m. and they have so much to offer.

What you can expect at this event is local beer, wine, cider, spirits, and food tastings they even have live entertainment.

Community clean up at McDade Park

All proceeds benefit the F.M. Kirby Center’s Community Outreach and Children’s Programing, which provides local children a chance to experience the performing arts free of charge. This is also another way to help support the kids in our community.

“There’s a lot of love for the Kirby Center in this community and to have all of these small businesses come and support us I’m so glad that these people come and support them,” said Joell Yarmel the executive director of the F.M. Kirby Center.

This event is sold out and about 500 people showed up.

This event will continue until 8:00 p.m. Saturday night so you still have a chance to get out here and support.
