Humphreys County inmate sought after walking off work detail; cash reward offered for ‘immediate capture’

WAVERLY, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office is offering a cash reward for the immediate capture of an inmate within the next 48 hours.

Sheriff Chris Davis told News 2 Michael Ayers walked off a work detail near CVS in Waverly. Ayers was incarcerated on a simple possession charge, as well as vandalism, and violation of parole.

Ayers is believed to be wearing blue pants and a white t-shirt, but may have recently changed clothes, according to investigators.

Davis said Ayers is not believed to be a danger to the public, but advised everyone to stay vigilant.
