Hugh Bonneville has recalled a "life-threatening" moment during his filming for The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin.
The Apple TV+ series is a largely fictional retelling of the infamous highway robber (played by Noel Fielding), with the show detailing his crimes and his run-ins with the duplicitous Jonathan Wild (Bonneville).
The leading pair spoke exclusively with Digital Spy following the show's premiere on Friday (March 1), with Bonneville revealing that he had a lucky escape during the filming of the comedy series.

"Not so much funny as life-threatening was jumping off the bridge," Bonneville recalled. "There was a bit where we jumped off a bridge together. As we got up to the top, you start getting a bit sweaty when you see about eight stuntmen instead of two.
"You think, 'Right, so this is quite a big thing that we're doing.' And then you get up to the top of this ladder, and climb onto this structure, and realise you've got to jump whatever it was: It felt like 20 feet or 30 feet."
"I'd done some wire work when I was young," Fielding added. "When you're younger, you're much more – I want to say brave, but probably stupid. But it was the other way: It was being pulled off the floor as we were jumping and hoping that the wire was going to save us, but you don't quite know."

"We were much higher up than I thought we were going to be. My knees were knocking a little bit," Fielding continued. "I looked over, thinking: 'Hugh's probably done a lot of this stuff. He's definitely the next James Bond.' And then I looked over at him, and he went, 'I'm shitting myself.' I thought, 'Thank God for that!'"
The pair also said the experience helped them bond emotionally as they placed their trust in the stunt department.
