HTC to reportedly slash prices and dump Beats Audio from most phone models

HTC bringing Beats Audio to Windows Phone 8 devices

After the launch of the company’s One series failed to generate the level of consumer interest the company was looking for, HTC (2498) plans to significantly reduce the prices of its Android and Windows Phone devices, according to a report from Chinese website My Drivers. The strategy will be applied to models already on the market as well as future products. The Taiwanese manufacturer will supposedly also no longer integrate Beats Audio technology into the majority of its handsets. Once a dominant Android smartphone vendor, HTC has fallen on hard times over the past year and has allowed its rivals to soak up its market share. HTC did not respond to a request for comment.
