HS Football Playoffs: Rifle beat out University

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The 3rd seeded Rifle Bears beat the 6th seeded University Bulldogs 35-28 in the second round of the 2A Football Playoffs. The Bears advance to the 2A Football Playoff semifinals where they’ll play 15th seeded underdog Eaton.

1st seeded Delta barely beat out the 9th seeded Classical Academy 16-14 in their 2A second round game. The Panthers will play 12th seeded Moffat County in the 2A semifinals.

Meanwhile, Fruita Monument were knocked out of the 4A Football Playoffs by Broomfield 30-14, and Montrose took down Pueblo West in a close 35-28 game in their matchup. The Red Hawks will face the Windsor Wizards in the 4A quarterfinals.
