Howard County police arrest teens for armed carjackings, robbery

HOWARD COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — The Howard County Police Department (HCPD) arrested and charged five teenagers for multiple crimes.

On Sunday morning, HCPD arrested three teenage boys ranging from 14 to 15 years old and two teenage girls who were 15 years old.

Around 8:20 a.m., officers responded to the 10500 block of Green Mountain Cir. for an attempted armed carjacking. Officers found the suspected car and tried to conduct a traffic stop, but the suspects escaped.

Officers chased the car into Baltimore City and were able to arrest the teens there.

HCPD officers also responded to two additional reports at the same time as the first report — an armed robbery on Waterfowl Terrace and another attempted armed carjacking at Green Mountain Circle.

The teens were charged with armed robbery, carjacking and other related charges. The two girls were also previously charged in two armed robberies they were accused of participating in last November.

The teens were being held at different juvenile justice centers around Maryland.

Detectives were working to figure out if they were involved in other incidents in the surrounding area.
