Houston storm death: 7 people confirmed dead due to storms

HOUSTON - More deaths have been confirmed dead after Thursday's severe storms in the Houston area.
Houston Police Department reported that on Thursday around 7:30 p.m. in the 6300 block of Jensen Drive, a woman went outside to move a vehicle. The husband told officials he went outside a minute later and found her lying underneath a tree branch. Officials say help was called from the woman and she was brought inside. HPD says the woman died from her injuries.

HPD authorities say the death is under investigation.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez also tweeted a 57-year-old named Mr. Martinez was trying to move a downed electrical pole in the 12400 block of Kilkenny Glenn Drive on Thursday when he collapsed. Martinez was taken to the hospital where he died.
On the same day, around 6:45 p.m. in the 15900 block of Cypress Meadows Drive, lightning struck a home, causing a fire, Gonzalez said. It was reported that 85-year-old Ms. Rodriguez was inside the trailer and found dead.
In the 13800 block of Waxahachie, 60-year-old Mr. Padgett lost power and went outside to his truck to plug in his oxygen tank, but was found unresponsive Friday morning and pronounced dead at the scene.
Four other people were confirmed to have died from the storms by the Houston mayor.
Authorities say the death is under investigation.
