Houston shooting: 15-year-old shot, 16-year-old killed at Nantucket Square Townhomes

HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS - The Harris County Sheriff's office says two teens were shot outside their homes at the LakeBridge town home complex in North Harris County.

A 16-year-old victim died at the scene while a 15-year-old victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive his injuries, according to HCSO Sgt. Greg Pinkins.

FOX 26 Houston is now on the FOX LOCAL app available through Apple TV, Amazon FireTV, Roku, Google Android TV, and Vizio!

"The preliminary investigation shows the juveniles were in their residence. They came outside, shortly after they went outside there were several gunshots fired.," he said.

Neighbors in the complex say they saw two people running from the scene.

"They're described as Black males, one [and] skinny, one short with dreads, both wearing black hoodies," said Pinkins.

Enji, a neighbor, says she heard the shooting

"I heard this big boom," she said.

She says she hasn't experienced anything like this at the complex before.

"It's definitely scary, and I feel like it could happen anywhere. But I think we need security here for sure," she said.

The shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. according to HCSO, the day before Mother's Day.

"It's not like an injury, it's death, and I'm so sorry for that, mom," said Enji. "I pray that God consols them and gives them the peace they need, and we need to take the guns away from those kids."

HCSO has not identified either victim and say this is an ongoing investigation.
