House of Representatives to vote on Ukraine aid on April 20 — Speaker Johnson
The U.S. House of Representatives will vote on separate bills appropriating funding for packages of U.S. military aid to Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan on Saturday, April 20, House Speaker Mike Johnson said in a note to the House on April 17.
According to CNN, Johnson has specified the timeline before introducing the bills to the House. In addition to foreign military aid, a fourth bill will address Republican concerns about security at the U.S.-Mexico border. The texts of the documents are also expected to be made public on April 17.
“After significant Member feedback and discussion, the House Rules Committee will be posting soon today the text of three bills that will fund America’s national security interests and allies in Israel, the Indo-Pacific, and Ukraine, including a loan structure for aid, and enhanced strategy and accountability,” the speaker said in the note.

On Feb. 13, the U.S. Senate passed a bill that includes aid for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan, amounting to $95 billion, with $60 billion earmarked for Kyiv.
That same day, Johnson criticized the proposal, stating he was not ready to consider the Senate-backed bill. Since then, Johnson has refused to put any kind of Ukraine aid bill to a vote on the House floor, despite a broad bipartisan consensus on the matter that would secure its passage.
On April 15, Johnson said he will instead introduce four separate bills regarding U.S. aid to Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, and funding for other national security priorities.
