U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson has suggested that a vote on a Ukraine aid bill might take place on April 19, CNN reported on April 16.

Johnson stated that House members are expected to have 72 hours to review the bill. If it is published on April 16, this sets the stage for a potential vote on Friday, CNN said.

At the same time, the House's scheduled week-long recess begins on April 18, as reported by NBC News.

On April 15, Johnson announced plans to introduce four separate bills that would provide U.S. aid to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan, as well as address national security concerns around the Mexican border.

The New York Times and The Washington Post report that Jonhson’s proposed package largely mirrors the $95 billion aid bill previously passes by the U.S. Senate, which included $60 billion for Ukraine.
