House fire in York leaves 3 people with non life-threatening injuries

YORKTOWN, Va. (WAVY) – York County Fire and Life Safety responded to a house fire early Tuesday morning.

Crews from the York County Department of Fire and Life Safety, as well as mutual aid units from the City of Williamsburg and James City County, were dispatched to the 1100 block of Blalock Drive just before 5 a.m. for reports of a residential structure fire. This is in the York Terrace Subdivision.

Fire crews arrived to the scene and found heavy smoke coming from the house.

Four occupants were evaluated by fire and rescue personnel. Three were transferred to a local hospital to be treated for non life-threatening injuries.

The Red Cross has been called to assist with the displaced individuals, as crews determined the house sustained extensive fire and smoke damage.

The fire remains under investigation.
