House fire in Florence contained, officials say

FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) — A house fire on Howard Street was contained Monday afternoon, according to the Florence Fire Department.

Heavy smoke could be seen coming from the front of the home when fire officials arrived.

The fire was contained in one hour and no injuries were reported. Fire officials said the cause of the fire is undetermined.

The Red Cross was called to assist those displaced by the fire. Florence police and Florence County EMS were on the scene assisting, the Florence Fire Department said.
