House fire on Camden Ave. in Portsmouth displaces one

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – One person is displaced after a house fire late Tuesday night.

According to officials, the Portsmouth Emergency Communications was notified of a fire in the 1700 block of Camden Avenue on April 16 at 11:30 p.m. This is in the Prentis Park section of the city.

Crews arrived to the scene to find a single-story home with visible fire on the detached garage, which extended into the residence.

The fire was considered under control by 12:06 a.m. after an aggressive interior attack.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
