Michelle Teska and Ben McCullough will face each other in the District 55 Republican primary.

Two Republican candidates are vying to replace Rep. Scott Lipps in the Ohio House of Representatives.

Term limits prevent Lipps, a Franklin Republican, from running for reelection so there is an open seat for District 55, which encompasses the eastern part of Warren County, including Springboro. Lipps won the district in 2022 with 75% of the vote.

Who is Michelle Teska?

Lipps has thrown his support behind Michelle Teska, a Centerville resident. Teska went to the University of Dayton and worked in sales for Cox Media Group for 23 years, according to her campaign website.

Teska now runs Golden Heart Senior Care with her husband, which provides assisted living and other services throughout southern Ohio.

The Warren County Republican Party endorsed Teska. Her priorities include small business growth, anti-abortion and gun control policies and support for veterans.

Who is Ben McCullough?

Teska is running against Ben McCullough, a Franklin resident who has served in the U.S. Army Reserve for over 13 years, according to his campaign website.

McCullough said he has a bachelor's degree from Wittenberg University and a master's degree from Wright State University.
