New hotel & storage facility proposed for Lancaster County

MANHEIM TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WHTM) — Plans to construct a new hotel and storage facility were recently shared with Manheim Township.

According to Sharyn Young, Manheim Township’s Director of Planning & Zoning, the proposed 12,513 square-foot WoodSpring Suites hotel would be four stories tall and would boast a total of 122 rooms.

The land development plan also says that the new hotel would have 134 parking spaces on the property.

In addition to the new hotel, a new storage facility would also be constructed on the same site, according to the land development plans. This three-story tall storage facility would be 25,000 square feet in size and would have 19 parking spaces available.

This new construction of the hotel and storage facility will take place at 840 Flory Mill Road.

Young says that this proposal received conditional approval from the Board of Commissioners on December 11, 2023.

Currently, the developer for the project still needs to receive their PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit, along with satisfying a handful of other administrative items through the township to officially record the land development plan.

Choice Hotels, which owns the WoodSpring Suites brand, says they expect to break ground on the new hotel later this year in Q4, followed by a potential opening in the second half of 2025.
