Hotel Royer update, new businesses coming to Urbana | Meet the Mayor
URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) – Urbana Mayor Diane Marlin came on the Morning Show to discuss an update to Hotel Royer as well as new businesses coming to Urbana.
The mayor provided more details on the Hotel Royer construction delay, explaining that the slow progress. Since the hotel is over 100 years old, workers are trying to maintain as much of the original architecture as possible, which has slowed the process down, delaying the opening.
The opening has been delayed to December 31st.
She also mentioned a new restaurant, Oskee’s Sports Pub, coming to the Atkins Golf Club. There is no date set for opening, but according to their Facebook Page, it is “Coming Soon”.

And finally, the mayor also discussed H-Mart coming to Urbana. Marlin was able to tour one in Chicago. “It’s going to be something different from anything we have around here,” she said. “I think it’ll be a regional draw as well and talk about catering to a culture.”
