Ivanka Trump is immersing her children in other cultures, teaching them Mandarin from a young age and taking them along on her travels. Now, she’s bringing more international culture into her home for her daughter Arabella’s sixth birthday.

Sharing a photo of hot dogs and marshmallows on skewers, Ivanka adopted a Filipino dish traditionally served at first-birthday parties.

Hot dogs in the Philippines tend to be bright red in color and much sweeter than in the U.S., but they are marketed as healthy with high protein content and zero MSG. Ivanka jokingly captioned her photo, “Keeping it healthy.”

In another form of the dish, Filipino hot dogs and marshmallows are served with spaghetti in a sauce of sweet banana ketchup and condensed milk.

Spaghetti was also served on Arabella’s birthday, which Ivanka says is a birthday tradition. “Noodles for a long life!” she wrote.

This is not the first time Ivanka has expressed interest in Filipino food. In April, a writer for IvankaTrump.com contacted Filipina-American executive chef Angela Dimayuga of Mission Chinese for a feature. As a queer woman born to immigrants who strongly disagrees with much of the Trump agenda, Dimayuga did not wish to be featured on Trump’s site, and her response to the writer went viral.

We wonder if Ivanka’s interest in Filipino food comes from a person in her life — or if she’s just not much of a cake person.
