The hot toys of summer preview in NYC

NEW YORK (PIX11) — Spring is here, which means a look at what toys may be hot for the hot summer months.

PIX11’s Eileen Lehpamer got a preview at the recent Spring Fling Toy Insider event on Manhattan’s West Side.

“We’re looking at toys that will keep kids active outside, whether traveling on vacation or home. We’re also looking at toys that have great price points,” Chief Toy Officer Laurie Schacht said.

Skillmatics is out with new versions of “Foil Fun,” and Toy Monster has 12 different versions of Fuggler plush dolls for under $8. There are also SoppyCid Reusable Water Balloons and Moose Games’ Pickleball Blast, a tabletop version of the popular game.

Another big draw is the remade version of the 1970’s Big Wheel Tricycle.

It is “kind of retrofitted, so it’s a little bit cooler, a little bit sleeker,” Schacht said.
