Hot New Tiny Tattoo Trend Is Surprisingly Classy (And Kendall Jenner-Approved, If That Matters!)

While there’s tons of examples of ultra bold ink out there, our favorite new trend is the complete opposite: delicate, tiny, minimalist tattoos.

These blink-and-you’ll-miss-’em designs are simple and elegant, perhaps capturing a symbol, a geometric shape, or a pretty pattern.

Tiny tattoos are subtle enough to add just a bit of interest to hands, feet, arms, even ears, yet easy to cover up if needed — which is in part why they’ve gained popularity among models and celebrities like Kendall Jenner.

Jenner recently got her first two tats, both white ink on her middle finger. Her very first one, a single white dot, is virtually the epitome of minimalism; the second, a broken heart outline, follows suit. And neither pose a problem to her growing modeling career.

If you’re not a model, or even not a tattoo lover, the appeal of these barely-there tattoos is still easy to see. They’re quick to get and inexpensive — especially compared to designs that require hours of shading — and there’s not much of a pain-factor, either. Especially for your first foray into ink, a minimalist tattoo just might be the right way to go.

There’s plenty of simple, pretty ideas here to inspire your own tat. In fact, search #tinytattoos on Instagram and 14,000 and counting pop up! So whatcha gonna choose?
