Horseheads boys swimming claims third straight section title, Storm win Class C crown

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – Horseheads boys swimming and diving has added another trophy to their collection.

The Horseheads boys swimming and diving team headlined Saturday’s Section IV Championships in Watkins Glen with a major victory. The Blue Raiders dominated much of the day to claim their third straight section title in Class A. Horseheads was paced by Kaden Tenecyk and Shoonfon Li, who each qualified for states in two individual events. Teneyck won the 50 (22.02) and 100 free (49.48), while Li claimed the 100 breaststroke (58.89) and 200 IM (1:55.33). The Blue Raiders won all three relay events, qualifying the team for states. In addition to Li and Teneyck; James Fedele, Thai Tran, Kiran Gulati, Devin Sullivan, and Kegan Monahan competed in the relay wins for Horseheads.

In Class C, the Schuyler Storm claimed a special section title win in their home pool. For the winning teams and individual qualified competitors, the NYSPHSAA Boys Swimming and Diving Championships will take place on Friday, March 1st and Saturday, March 2nd at Ithaca College.
