A horse stable, barns and in-ground pools: See these $1M+ Louisville area homes for sale

Million-dollar listings in the greater Louisville area typically feature an abundance of rooms, high-end finishes, and plenty of curb appeal. A few dozen $1 million-plus listings are currently for sale in the greater Louisville area for well above the area's median sale price, which in February was $258,000, a rise from the nearly $245,000 median at the same time last year.

Last month, homes in the greater Louisville area stayed on the market for a median of 29 days, a high not seen since February 2020, according to the Greater Louisville Association of Realtors.

From horse barns to elaborate kitchens, here are three million dollar and up properties for sale in the Louisville area.

This “farm oasis” on more than 13 acres in La Grange “transcends the traditional concept of a farm,” reads its listing.

The nearly 4,900-square-foot modern farmhouse, built in 2002, has 4 bedrooms and 4.5 baths and features a sunroom, multiple fireplaces, and a large walkout finished basement that can be used as a theater, game room or gym.

At the rear of the home is a fenced in-ground pool and paved patio for poolside lounging.

The property, listed in February, also includes a more than 1,700-square-foot barn with stables and a riding arena.

An Anchorage home listed on the National Register of Historic Places hit the market in early March.

Known as The James Walker House, the 4-bedroom, 3.5-bath home sits on 1.7 flat acres featuring forest views and private access to the Anchorage Trail.

Built in 1866, the home was added to the historic places registry for its architecture reflecting late 19th and early 20th century styles. Original owner James W. Walker was a prominent Anchorage citizen who co-operated a well-known nursery and used some of the property’s land for growing plants.

A wrap-around veranda first greets visitors. Living rooms are situated on either side of the large foyer and its curved staircase.
