Horry County firefighter suffers minor injuries battling blaze near Loris

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — An Horry County firefighter was taken to the hospital with minor injuries Wednesday afternoon following a fire that heavily damaged a home in the Loris area, authorities said.

Horry County Fire Rescue was dispatched at 1:40 p.m. to the unoccupied residence on Bonnie Bay Road. The fire was brought under control, and any displaced residents will be offered assistance by the American Red Cross of South Carolina, HCFR said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The Loris Fire Department assisted at the scene.
