Horizon Health adds cardiology provider

Apr. 10—Horizon Health recently announced ad addition to its cardiology team, Latia Summerville, family nurse practitioner.

She will be supporting Dr. C. Tyson, who serves as medical director. The department provides full-service cardiology care, treating conditions such as atrial fibrillation, arrhythmias (irregular heartbeat), coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, high cholesterol and high blood pressure, according to a release from Horizon Health.

Summerville has nine years of nursing experience, three of them as a nurse practitioner. She has worked in various healthcare settings in Illinois and Indiana, such as long-term care, adult intensive care unit, home health and hospital medicine.

She has a master's degree in nursing from Northern Illinois University, with a bachelor's degree in nursing from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. She also has a bachelor's degree in biology from Indiana State University.

Summerville is a Terre Haute native who enjoys traveling and spending time with family, especially her six-month-old daughter who is the "joy of her life."
