Hop on outta here, March! April’s here with Boise farmers markets, Easter fun — and bull

Goodbye, March. Take your up-and-down weather with ya! April is just a few days away, and it might bring consistent sunshine and warmth.

We are going to need some warm temps to take advantage of all the farmers markets. Free up your Saturdays for the Boise Farmers Market (opening April 2) and Capital City Farmers Market (opening April 16) to stock up on all your fresh fruits and veggies, as well as artisan goodies. The Boise market drive-thru option will continue this year.

Also, check out the Nampa Farmers Market, which opens April 2, and the Meridian Main Street Market on April 16.

If your kids are down to hang out with a big bunny, then jump on plenty of Easter-themed events. After a two-year break, Zoo Boise’s Easter EGGstravaganza is back — and in a big way! The celebration with candy, face painting and Easter bunny photo-ops will be a two-day event, April 9-10, instead of just one. Nampa is also holding its annual Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt on April 15.

For those looking for something a tad more rowdy, the Professional Bull Riders will hit the Ford Idaho Center on April 22-23.

Note: Check with event websites or social media before attending. Events might be canceled or postponed after press deadline because of the pandemic, or might have new rules in place regarding masks and proof of vaccination.

And if music is what you seek, pop on over to Stoney’s Road House in Emmett for Parmalee (April 15), Moonshine Bandits (April 23) and Little Texas (April 29). Or settle in to see Boise resident Curtis Stigers at The Record Exchange on April 24.

COVID-19 canceled most Easter events last year, but some activities are returning, including Zoo Boise’s Easter EGGstravaganza, which is two days this year (April 9-10) instead of one.
