Hood By Air’s NYFW Show Was Sponsored by PornHub...and It Was Obvious

With sounds of people having sex as the soundtrack, bare breasts, and clothing with the phrases “Hustler” and “Never Trust a Church Girl” written on them, it’s almost as if a porn website sponsored Hood By Air’s New York Fashion Week show.

Oh wait…that’s exactly what happened.

Sunday’s HBA runway was, in fact, sponsored by PornHub, which explains the fetish air in the room.

Models took the runway with Vaseline dripping down their faces and smeared through their hair. “Hair and makeup artists described the beauty look rather obliquely as, ‘Mischievous children who got into households accidents, like getting into Vaseline,’” New York Magazine’s The Cut staff reported. To us? It looks eerily similar to the hair product used in There’s Something About Mary.

The show was titled Handkerchief, and the artwork for the show was a repurposed Babysitter’s Club book cover that will change your childhood: one of the darling babysitters is remade to look like a really rough walk of shame victim.

Designer Shayne Oliver told Vogue the vibe was “exhibitionist,” which is where the “porn references came from.” Some of the models were in PornHub shirts, and if not, they were likely in underwear with a long trench.

While a lot pieces in this presentation followed the exhibitionist theme, not all of them should be reserved for role-playing. There were some high-waisted skinny paints with zipper details and a jumpsuit we wouldn’t mind getting our hands on.

Hood By Air will have their own section on PornHub, which will host this season’s collection and non-porn videos.

And this isn’t the first time Oliver pushed boundaries. His September 2015 show featured a backless jumpsuit and lots of skin.

If Oliver’s goal was to turn us on (to his new line! Get your head out of the gutter!), he definitely succeeded. Either that or he got the letters NYFW confused with NSFW.
