Honeywell fire alarms recalled due to failure-to-alert risk
WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Honeywell has recalled its L-Series Low Frequency Fire Alarm Sounders and Strobes due to risk of failure to alert consumers to a fire.
The recall, which affects about 29,000 units, was issued on March 14 for the technology and materials company. The USCPSC reports the sounders and strobes can malfunction and cause the fire alarm system to fail to alert consumers of a fire.
Honeywell’s corporate headquarters are in uptown Charlotte.
According to the recall, the fire alarms are for residential apartments and commercial buildings. The recommended fix is complete replacement, per the recall.
