Honda has officially unveiled the Avanacier SUV ahead of the 2016 Beijing Auto Show. This vehicle is the production version of the Concept D-SUV that was showcased last year and will slot in above the CR-V.
The Avancier, is Honda’s first attempt at making a sport coupe body styled vehicle, an increasingly popular choice among buyers in the D-segment.

It will be offered with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol mill for the Chinese market. There is also expected to be a more basic version with the 2.4-litre petrol motor. The former will be offered with a nine-speed gearbox while the latter may get a CVT and a six-speed manual.

The Avancier gets the chrome Honda grille with projector headlamps and contrast coloured bash plate element. Its sport coupe styling is most visible from the side where there are significant overhangs and a rear sloping roofline with wrap around tail lamps. The rear gets a forward sloping glass area and a contrast coloured bash plate just like the front.

The interior is standard Honda fare and appears to have features like a free floating touchscreen system, climate control and instrument cluster with digital display. It is expected to be offered with three rows of seats where the third row will fold into the floor to increase boot space.

It will be manufactured through the Guangzhou-Honda venture and for now will be sold only in China. However, there appears to be major potential for this vehicle to be offered in places like the US, India and markets across Europe.
