Honda's 2012 US sales up 24 percent, led by Civic, Accord, Oddysey

TORRANCE, Calif. (AP) -- Honda said Thursday that U.S. vehicle sales rose 24 percent in 2012, led by strong sales of its Civic and Accord sedans as well as the Odyssey minivan.

BY THE NUMBERS: Honda sold 1.4 million vehicles last year, up from 1.1 million in 2011.

TOP SELLER: Honda's Civic and Accord sedans continued to be its best-sellers. Accord sales rose almost 41 percent to 331,872, from 235,625 in 2011. Civic sales rose 43.7 percent to 317,909, from 221,235 in 2011.

HOT MODELS: Sales of Honda's Odyssey minivan rose 17.7 percent to 125,980 for the year, from 107,068 a year ago. The CR-V small SUV rose 29 percent to 281,652, from 218,373 in 2011.
