Deadly shooting in northwest Charlotte; investigation underway

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – A homicide investigation is underway in northwest Charlotte following a deadly shooting, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said Tuesday.

Officers responded to calls around 5:20 a.m. near 2300 Toddville Road in a residential area in northwest Charlotte. A man who police say was in his late 30s was located with apparent gunshot wounds and was transported to an area medical center where they were later pronounced dead.

CMPD Major Butler spoke on scene and said a person of interest is being spoken with at Uptown headquarters, however, they are not yet calling the individual a suspect.

Butler said they are currently working to obtain video surveillance footage of the incident.
