Homeless College Graduate Entertains Hundreds of Job Offers After Handing Out Resume at Busy Intersection
A homeless California college graduate is fielding hundreds of job offers after handing out his resume at a busy intersection.
David Casarez, a 26-year-old graduate of Texas A&M University in 2014, held up a sign that read "Homeless. Hungry 4 success. Take a resume" at a stoplight on the corner of El Camino and San Antonio in Mountain View, California.
Passerby Jasmine Scofield noticed him Friday afternoon, and after chatting with him and taking his resume, posted the document to Twitter.
Today I saw this young homeless man asking for people to take a resume rather than asking for money. If anyone in the Silicon Valley could help him out, that would be amazing. Please RT so we can help David out! pic.twitter.com/ewoE3PKFx7

It quickly went viral, with both companies looking to hire and people in similar situations reaching out.
Thank you everyone for the outpouring of support! I am completely floored by how many are interested in my #Hungry4Success story. I have met several who have been or currently are in the same situation tell me their story. I am glad to be an inspiration for you all.

Casarez has since been flooded with at least 200 job offers from major names in tech, he said in an interview with the New York Post.
Scofield tweeted that she has since been in touch with Casarez, who said his dream was to come to the Silicon Valley to be successful in the tech industry.
"He's sleeping in parks and still trying to get freelance work, interviews and applications in," she wrote, explaining that he has a computer and brings it to Starbucks and other places with free Wi-Fi to search for jobs and work on remote projects.
Scofield later explained that she was inspired to share his story since she too realizes how hard it is to make it in Silicon Valley.
"After three years, I've finally landed something stable that’ll help my career," she said. "I understand his pain, which is why I was determined to help."
