‘Homeland’s’ Howard Gordon Sells First Comedy to NBC

“Homeland” and “24” executive producer Howard Gordon is trying his hand at comedy.

NBC has ordered a script from Gordon for action workplace comedy “Human Resources,” Variety has confirmed.

The “24”-meets-“Die Hard” half-hour single-cam follows a group of unlikely heroes that come together to save their co-workers, jobs and themselves.

Tom Gormican (“That Awkward Moment”) will write the script and exec produce, alongside Gordon and Hugh Fitzpatrick, of Teakwood Lane Productions at 20th Century Fox, and 3 Arts’ Oly Obst. Gordon is under an overall deal at 20th Century Fox TV.

This marks the first-ever comedy for Teakwood Lane, which has co-produced Showtime’s “Homeland,” Fox’s “24,” FX’s “Tyrant,” TNT’s “Legends” and NBC’s short-lived drama “Awake.”

Gordon is repped by WME, 3 Arts and Gendler & Kelly.
