Hollywood producer accused of drugging, sexually assaulting aspiring writer

A Hollywood writer and producer with more than two decades of work under his belt has been accused of drugging and sexually assaulting an aspiring writer in 2022.

Laurence Andries, 66, credited on IMDB.com as a co-executive producer of the CBS crime procedural “Blue Bloods,” was formally charged in Los Angeles County this past September.

Andries’ other credits include “Supernatural,” “Six Feet Under” and “How to Get Away with Murder.”

Charging documents obtained by KTLA show Andries faces six charges related to sexual assault, including sodomy, oral copulation and penetration “by anesthesia or a controlled substance.”

The alleged sexual assault took place in Los Angeles County on the evening of June 30, 2022, the documents show.

On Wednesday, the nonprofit Crime Survivors Resource Center issued a release identifying Andries as the suspect in a sexual assault of an unnamed military veteran and aspiring writer who allegedly met Andries in a writers program and considered him a mentor.

The organization said the victim alleges that Andries drugged his drink at a bar and sexually assaulted him while he was unconscious. He “eventually gained enough strength to leave and went to a hospital, where staff notified police,” the organization said.

Andries was ultimately arrested on Aug. 29, 2023, the release states.

The felony complaint provided to KTLA reflects the same timeline provided by the Crime Survivors Resource Center, and jail records indicate Andries was in fact arrested on the provided date.

Andries has pleaded not guilty to the charges and is free on $150,000 bond, according to the Los Angeles Times. He has yet to appear for a preliminary hearing.

The nonprofit said it issued the release on behalf of the victim and to urge other possible victims to come forward.
