Hollywood & Broadway To Put On Big-Money Show For Hillary Clinton

Tinseltown and the Great White Way are stepping onstage to help Hillary Clinton in the final weeks of the campaign with a star-studded Harvey Weinstein co-produced fundraiser on October 17 in NYC. The former Secretary of State herself will not be in attendance for the Billy Crystal hosted Stronger Together event for the Hillary Victory Fund but daughter and much travelled surrogate Chelsea will be at the St. James Theatre that evening

Tickets for the long time HRC supporter Weinstein, Stephen Schwartz, Jordan Roth and Richie Jackson produced shindig are going for $45 to $10,000 a pop with a top tier $100,000 price tag for four premium orchestra tickets and an invite to the backstage party.

For that, those in the seats of the 1,710 capacity venue will be entertained by A-list talent such as Julia Roberts, Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, Hugh Jackman, and Divorce star Sarah Jessica Parker in a series of one-time only duets. Though the Clinton campaign bought out the Richard Rodgers Theatre on July 12 for a $2,700 to $100,000 a ticket performance of the acclaimed musical based on the life of the first Treasury Secretary, Miranda himself was not among the cast that afternoon.

Also among those onstage for next month’s fundraiser will be The Girl On The Train’s Emily Blunt, Anne Hathaway, Josh Groban, and Angela Bassett. Neil Patrick Harris and Helen Mirren, plus Sienna Miller, Bernadette Peters, Matthew Broderick Cynthia Erivo, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Sarah Jones, Andrea McArdle and Ayodele Case will be there as well in the Michael Mayer directed show.

Drawing repeatedly from the Hollywood ATM, the ex-First Lady’s latest White House bid has also seen a March Radio City Music Hall fundraiser with Elton John and Katy Perry help fill its coffers.

With the November 8 contest between Clinton and Donald Trump a tight race, this new cavorting on the Broadway stage will more than likely help pay for a final surge of ad buys for the Democrat’s campaign.

What makes the October event more interesting and potentially politically awkward behind the scenes is that St. James owner Roth’s father is one of the ex-Celebrity Apprentice host’s closest advisors. And Trump was a guest at the wedding of the younger Roth to fellow Stronger Together producer Jackson. Ahh, lifestyles of the rich and infamous.
