Holloman Air Force Base celebrates Police Week starting May 13
Police week is celebrated the week of May 13 and Holloman Air Force Base has several events planned for residents on base.
The events are for on-base personnel but anyone with base access can attend the opening and closing ceremonies.
Here's your guide to police week at Holloman.
Opening Ceremony
When: 8:30 a.m. on Monday, May 13
Where: Heritage Park on David Goldfein St.
5K Run/Walk
When: 10 a.m. on Monday, May 13
Where: Building 35 on Tabosa Ave
Police Challenge
When: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14
Where: Base Gym Track at the Domenici Fitness Center is 1051 W. Connecticut Ave. The track is across the street.
If officers choose to enter the police challenge, they must have a team of four people. The event will consist of a Humvee push, litter carry, Jerry carry, buddy drag, team push-ups and a run.
Police Parade
When: 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15
Where: Soaring Heights at 2300 Alamogordo Blvd.
Golf Tournament
When: 7 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15
Where: Desert Lakes Golf Course at 2351 Hamilton Road, Alamogordo NM
The Golf Tournament is open to the public and teams are comprised of law enforcement personnel from different agencies.
Holloman School Outreach
When: Begins at 9 a.m. and carries on through noon on Thursday, May 16
Where: Holloman Elementary and Middle School
Closing Ceremony
When: 1 p.m. on Friday, May 17
Where: Holloman Base Theatre Building 783, on West New Mexico Avenue
