Hit-and-run driver arrested after victim suffers life-threatening injuries in Millbrae

(KRON) – A man was arrested for hit-and-run after an accident that caused a woman life-threatening injuries, said the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office received a report of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian near Millbrae Avenue and El Camino Real at around 5:40 a.m. on Sunday. Upon arrival, deputies rendered aid until the victim was transported to a local hospital for her life-threatening injuries.

The deputies were informed by witnesses that the driver of the vehicle struck the pedestrian before fleeing the scene in the vehicle. Automated license plate reader technology was utilized in the investigation to find the suspect.

Deputies identified the driver as 32-year-old Millbrae resident Nathan U. Tuvalu. He was arrested at his home. He was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility for felony hit-and-run.
