Hit-and-run on Ambassador Caffery kills pedestrian; Lafayette Police charge Sunset man

Lafayette Police are investigating hit-and-run that left a pedestrian dead.

Donald Jackson, 57, of Scott was heading northbound on Ambassador Caffery Parkway on Sunday night when he was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound in the 2600 block of Ambassador, according to police.

The vehicle did not stop and continued traveling northbound on Ambassador Caffery, according to an LPD release.

Lafayette Police later arrested a 36-year-old Sunset man and charged him felony hit-and-run. If convicted, the man could face up to 10 years in prison and up to $5,000 in fines.
