Hillsborough County needs help identifying environmental challenges

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Nobody knows a neighborhood like those who live in it. That’s why Hillsborough County is calling on you to help them identify areas with environmental challenges.

The county is redoing its vulnerability assessment so crews can better respond to issues in the community.

Leaders need to know which projects to prioritize and which areas could qualify for grant funding.

If you can help, there will be a meeting at Town and Country Regional Library in Tampa at 6 p.m. on Tuesday to give your input.

“We’ll ask them you know what some of their challenges are in their own communities and then we’ll have a mapping exercise so they can actually put a push pin on a map and give some comments,” said Troy Salisbury, Hillsborough County’s Hazard Mitigation Resiliency and Sustainability Manager.

If you can’t make tonight’s meeting, you can share your input online.
