Hillsborough County deputy saves woman who stopped breathing in Plant City tax collector’s office

PLANT CITY, Fla. (WFLA) — A Hillsborough County deputy saved a woman who collapsed and stopped breathing in the Plant City tax collector’s office on Tuesday.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Christina Paolillo’s quick thinking and CPR skills were life-saving when the woman experienced a medical emerency.

HCSO said the woman lost her pulse and stopped breathing.

“Deputy Paolillo jumped into action, administering CPR and calling for an AED. Her efforts brought the woman’s pulse back until EMS arrived and transported her to the hospital for further care,” the sheriff’s office said.

Body camera video showed Paolillo performing CPR and using an AED on the woman.

“She came here. She dropped. She looked like she was seizing. She went unresponsive — no pulse and no breathing. We got the AED on her. I did CPR and we got her back now,” Paolillo told Plant City Fire Rescue crews.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said the woman is recovering and her condition is “stable.”
