Hillary Clinton slams Trump's 'very dark, dangerous' speech at the U.N.

Hillary Clinton doesn’t think the United Nations is the place to be quoting Elton John songs.

During her appearance on The Late Show, the former presidential candidate weighed in on Donald Trump’s Tuesday address to the U.N., where he called North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong-un, “Rocket Man,” and vowed to “totally destroy” the nation if they continued to threaten the U.S.

“I thought it was very dark, dangerous, not the kind of message that the leader of the greatest nation in the world should be delivering,” Clinton told host Stephen Colbert.

While acknowledging that it must be made abundantly clear that the country won’t tolerate attacks, she insisted that more tactful steps need to be taken. “You should lead with diplomacy,” said Clinton. “You should lead with the commitment to try and avoid conflict however you can.”
