Hillary Clinton sends sympathy to tornado victims

WASHINGTON (AP) — Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is offering her condolences to those who were killed, hurt or lost their homes when a tornado struck Arkansas.

Clinton said during a speech Monday in Washington that having lived many years in Arkansas she knows "exactly where the big tornado hit" and "how devastating that can be."

She said she wants to send "best wishes for recovery and sympathy to those who were directly affected."

The half-mile-wide tornado carved an 80-mile path of destruction through the Little Rock suburbs Sunday evening, killing at least 15 people, flattening rows of homes and demolishing a new school that hadn't had a chance to open.
