Hillary Clinton Breaks ‘Between Two Ferns’ Records

Hillary Clinton’s Between Two Ferns interview with Zach Galifianakis has clocked the highest launch-day view count in Funny Or Die history, breaking social media records, and generating more than 30 million views across all of Funny Or Die platforms in 24 hours.

“Funny Or Die congratulates Zach, Scott Aukerman and Hillary on the remarkable response to the latest episode” of the Fern franchise,” said FOD’s CEO Mike Farah. He’s on a first-name basis with the candidate seen saying “I really regret doing this” as she’s takes “questions” from Galifianakis along lines of, “What happens if you become pregnant? Are we going to be stuck with Tim Kaine for nine months?”

The video – Between Two Ferns‘ 20th episode – went live Thursday at 8 AM ET and within a couple of hours was trending on Facebook and Twitter. The views brought more than 500K Facebook shares and 25K Retweets, making it Funny Or Die’s most shared social post of all time.
Funny Or Die maintains that reaction to the video was “overwhelmingly positively” as evidenced by the enthusiastic tweeted review of Donald Trump supporter Kid Rock: “I don’t care what your politics are, funny is funny! Enjoy.”

Tickling Rock’s funny bone: Galifianakis asks Clinton if she’s excited at the prospect of potentially becoming “the first girl” POTUS, and, in response to her earnest answer about the significance for young American girls, shoots back, “Not to take away from the historic significance … but for a younger younger generation, you’ll also also become their first white president, and that’s pretty neat too.”
