Highway Patrol seeks hit-and-run driver

Jan. 26—JAMESTOWN — The N.C. State Highway Patrol is searching for the driver of a car involved in a hit-and-run wreck near the Jamestown-High Point border that left a pedestrian with serious injuries.

Zonte Andre Pittman, 52, of High Point was walking east on the shoulder of W. Main Street east of Penny Road just after 7 p.m. Wednesday when a vehicle traveling east struck him from behind.

Pittman had life-threatening injuries and was taken to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

Investigators are searching for a crimson red pearl Acura ILX passenger car, model year 2013 to 2015, with visible damage to the front grill trim assembly and missing the front grill Acura emblem.
