Highway Patrol investigates hit and run bicyclist death in Sarasota County
Authorities are investigating the hit and run death of an unidentified adult bicyclist in Sarasota County Friday morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol the incident occurred at 12:24 am, on Beneva Road and Wilkinson Road, in Sarasota County. The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver/vehicle fled.
The hit and run vehicle is a 2006 to 2010 Ford Fusion, silver in color, with no passenger side mirror and front end damage.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol or Crimestoppers.
FHP said more details would be released later on Friday.
