Winds lessen, temps warm up as week progresses — Your 9-Day Forecast

Today was as bad as predicted. Strong winds, blowing dust… one of “those days.” With an official high of 87, the peak wind gust has been 56 mph. Visibility has been down to 2.5 miles.

TONIGHT:  Tonight, KTSM has issued a Weather Authority Alert due to powerful, damaging winds until late this evening.  A High Wind Warning is posted until 10 PM.  A Blowing Dust Advisory is posted until 8 PM.  The west winds will range from 25-60 mph with the strongest winds on the east slopes of the mountains.  Winds will begin to die down late evening and will diminish to a light breeze by morning.  The low will be 51.

FORECAST:  Tuesday will be sunny with much lighter winds… a very nice day.  With a high of 80, expect west winds at 10-25 mph (no dust).  Wednesday will be sunny with warm winds and a high of 87.  The SW winds will range from 10-20 mph.  Thursday will be sunny with warm breezes and a high of 90.  The SW winds will range from 10-25 mph.  Friday will be sunny and windy with a high of 92.  The SW winds will pick up and gust to 35 mph (no dust).  Saturday will be sunny and windy (no dust) with a high of 90.
