TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — High tide is causing flooding in St. Petersburg after severe weather moved through the area on Thursday afternoon, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.
Police urged drivers to avoid the area of 42nd Avenue South and Sunrise Drive South due to about a foot of water on the road.
Officers have placed cones and barricades in the area until the water recedes.
Never attempt to drive through high waters, police said.
